The Seaward, formerly the Seaward Inn, is a Rockport MA rental property nestled on the outer edge of Cape Ann Massachusetts.
The Seaward has taken many shapes and forms over the past 65 years while remaining in the Cameron family. Although the main building and restaurant were sold in December 2013. The remaining buildings were turned into cottages and apartments – Gap Cove, Spruce Cottage, Gully Point, Loblolly Cove and Lover’s Cove, through 2022.
Beginning in 2023, Spruce Cottage is our remaining Rockport rental available for long-term winter rentals and also weekly rentals available in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The others have been rented annually.
The Seaward is located on Marmion Way, known for its lovely homes, gardens and ocean views. Here you can relax to the soothing ocean sounds, distant fog horn, and seagulls while watching the lobster boats pass by. We are a short mile to downtown Rockport MA which can also be accessed along an ocean path. Along the way you will pass Old Garden Beach; a good spot for a dip, and the “headlands” for an outstanding view of Rockport Harbor.
While enjoying your vacation home away from home, take your car or borrow one of our beach cruiser bikes and explore the art galleries, shops and restaurants of downtown Rockport. Dogtown, considered a ghost town, is a large wooded area between Rockport and Gloucester. Most suitable for the adventurous, it affords rich recreation opportunities to hikers and mountain bikers, dog-walkers, nature lovers, geologists and historians.
Halibut Point State Park and the Atlantic Path are two other treasures which will delight the outdoor enthusiast. Whether you prefer the rocky coastlines, a quiet beach, reading a good book, artistic endeavors, biking, birding, kayaking, oceanfront dining, theater or music at the renowned Shalin Liu Performance Center. Cape Ann has it all…and more!
